This workshop introduced “crowdfunding” procedures, the related strategies and its benefits. This term consists of “crowd” and “funding” which implies the practice of funding a project or venture by raising money from a large number of people who each contribute a relatively small amount. Crowdfunding has been used to fund a wide range of for-profit, entrepreneurial ventures such as artistic and creative projects, community-oriented social entrepreneurship projects and startups. It can be considered an alternative way of funding which can contribute a lot to the development of the arts and technologies. In the reward-based crowdfunding campaign, you propose your project on a platform like Hamijoo (An Iranian Crowdfunding Platform). Interested backers donate to the project. In return for backing a project, backers receive rewards based on the amount of funding they commit—defined by the business or entrepreneur behind the project.
In the first part, Shima Saberi, Project Manager at Hamijoo, gave an introductory outline.
In the second part, Zeinab Tabrizi talked about her past experiences and suggested some tips on how to run a successful crowdfunding campaign.
